CIGAR is a network promoting worldwide discussion and research on comparative governmental accounting. The 17th Workshop to be held in Udine in June 2024 focuses on individual and joint papers, preferably in an international comparative perspective, on "Digital and smart governance for public sector accounting, auditing, and accountability".

The CIGAR 2024 workshop will also host the 4th IPSASB Research Forum.

The best papers from the CIGAR Workshop will be considered for a fast-track publication for the Special Issue on "Digital transformation in public sector accounting, auditing and accountability: palliative or panacea?" - Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management.
