How to reach Udine

By Air: Udine is easily connected to three airports:

  • Trieste Airport (Ronchi dei Legionari): This is the closest airport to Udine, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) to the south. The train service from Udine to Trieste stops at the airport. Alternatively, buses and taxes are available.
  • Venice Airport (Marco Polo): This is a larger international airport located about 130 kilometers (80 miles) to the south-west. The airport is connected by bus to Venice (Venezia Mestre) railway station which runs frequent trains to Udine. Alternatively, buses and taxes are available.
  • Treviso Airpor (Sant'Angelo): This is an airport with primarily low-cost and charter flights located 100 kilometers (65 miles) to the west. The airport is connected by bus to Treviso railway station which runs frequent trains to Udine. Alternatively, buses and taxes are available.

By Train: Udine is well-connected to major Italian cities by train. The Udine railway station is centrally located and offers good connections to Venice, Trieste, Milan, and other cities.

By Bus: long-distance and regional bus services connect Udine to various towns and cities in Italy and neighboring countries.

By Car: Udine is accessible via the A23 and the A4 motorways, which connects Udine to the nearby cities of Trieste, Tarvisio and Venice, as well as to Austria and Slovenia.
